Known by Jesus: Mary Magdalene’s Story of Healing and Calling—Hearing Jesus Daily Devotional
God’s Word transforms us—but only if we’re in it.
The best Bible translation is the one you’ll actually read. In this final week of the She Hears study, we revisit the importance of meditating on Scripture and introduce more tools from the Color Method to help you engage deeply. We also look at Mary Magdalene’s story—how her devotion and response to Jesus teach us to follow with both courage and understanding.
SHE HEARS CHAPTER 6
Mary
Magdalene
Some of the most powerful callings come from the most broken places.
In She Hears, the story of Mary Magdalene stands as a testimony to healing, devotion, and being truly known by Jesus. For Christian women today seeking purpose and restoration, her story reveals the kind of transformation only Jesus can offer.
“She turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.” — John 20:14
Mary Magdalene wasn’t just a bystander in Jesus’ ministry—she was a woman delivered, healed, and entrusted with the most important message of the gospel: “He is risen.”
Once plagued by seven demons, Mary’s encounter with Jesus changed everything. He didn’t define her by her past. He saw her. He healed her. He chose her.
In a culture that often silenced women, Jesus elevated them. Mary’s presence at the cross, at the tomb, and then as the first witness to the resurrection was no accident. She didn’t run when things got hard. She stayed. And in her grief, she was met with glory.
Her story reminds us that:
Jesus sees you in your pain
Healing doesn’t disqualify you—it commissions you
Being known by God is what gives you true identity
Mary was the first to declare the resurrection—not because of status, but because of relationship. That same invitation is open to us. We don’t need to be perfect, powerful, or prominent. We just need to be present. Jesus meets us in our pain and calls us by name.
She Hears unpacks how Mary Magdalene’s journey shows us how to:
Find healing in Jesus, not shame in our story
Stay near Him even when things fall apart
Recognize His voice in moments of confusion or grief
Step boldly into the mission He gives us
You don’t have to prove your worth to Jesus. You don’t have to fix yourself before He’ll use you. You just have to listen when He calls your name—and respond.

pray with me
Lord Jesus, thank You for seeing me the way You saw Mary. For not turning away from my brokenness, but stepping into it with healing and love. Help me to hear Your voice, to stay near You, and to say yes to the calling You’ve placed on my life. Amen.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
