Bible Study Live: Immersive Bible Study Trips
Open your Bible in the places that bring the story to life, with a small group of other believers and a teacher who loves helping you hear God's voice.
Bible Study Live is faith-based travel built around Scripture. Each trip pairs daily Bible teaching with time on location, so the Word stops feeling far away and starts feeling close.
Every day is built around time in God's Word together, in small groups where you'll actually get to know the people around you.
Meet Your Leader
Every Bible Study Live trip is led by Rachael Groll, host of the Hearing Jesus podcast, which has been downloaded more than 12 million times.
Rachael holds a Master's in Bible Exposition and Theology from Biola University and has spent years helping people hear God's voice more clearly through daily Bible study.
Bible Study Live is that same teaching, in person.
Upcoming Bible Study Trips
2028 Dates Coming Soon | Starting at $5,900Greece: Walk Through the New Testament
Many of Paul's letters were written to churches in Greece. On this trip, you'll visit the cities those letters were sent to and read them where they first landed.
You'll stand at Kavala, the port where Paul first set foot in Europe, and in Philippi, where Lydia became the first believer on the continent. You'll walk through Thessaloniki, then Athens, where Paul preached at the Areopagus, and Corinth, where he spent a year and a half building a church. In nearby Cenchreae, you'll learn about Phoebe, the woman Paul trusted to carry his letter to the Romans.
Passages you've known for years start to make sense in a new way when you're standing in the place they were written for. Phoebe and Lydia are also part of Rachael's upcoming book, Never Unseen (Revell/Baker, 2027).
August 8-14, 2027 | Starting at $5,697Maui: Created for More
A week of rest, worship, and daily Bible teaching, right on the beach in Lahaina. Together, we study Genesis through the lens of creation, in one of the most beautiful places on earth, and remember who God made us to be.
This is one of the only Christian Bible study retreats on Maui, and it's limited to a small group so there's room to slow down and hear from God.
NOVEMBER 7-13, 2027 | Starting at $6,200Rome: Carry the Gospel
Rome is where a small, pressured group of believers carried the message of Jesus into the heart of the most powerful empire on earth. This trip follows how the gospel spread and asks a personal question: what does it look like for you to carry it home?
The 2027 theme, Nothing Wasted, looks at how God used every part of Paul's journey, including the hardest parts, to move the mission forward.
What Is a Bible Study Trip?
A Bible study trip is travel built around studying Scripture on location. Each day centers on teaching from the Bible, followed by time in the places that bring that passage to life.
How is it different from a typical tour? You'll see famous sites, but you'll see them with your Bible open and a teacher walking you through what happened there and why it matters for your faith today.
Is this a pilgrimage? In many ways, yes. Christians have traveled to the places of their faith for centuries, and our Rome and Greece trips carry on that tradition. For many evangelical Christians, pilgrimage is a new idea, and Bible Study Live is a natural first step into it because Scripture stays at the center of every day. Maui is different. It's a retreat, built around rest and time with God in His creation.
What does a typical day look like? Most days start with teaching, then we head out with Bibles in hand to the places connected to that day's passage. Meals are shared, and evenings are often where the best conversations happen. Many travelers arrive early or stay a few extra days to explore on their own, since our days together are full.
Who Are These Trips For?
Bible Study Live trips are for women, married couples, and families traveling together (all travelers must be 18 or older). Single men are not able to attend.
Many of our travelers are longtime listeners of the Hearing Jesus podcast. Some have studied the Bible for decades, and others are newer to it. Plenty are traveling internationally for the first time, and many come on their own and leave with new friends. What they share is a teachable heart and a real desire to know God more.
Each trip has its own pace. Rome and Greece are full days of walking and sightseeing, with teaching woven through each one. Maui is slower, with more time to rest, worship, and be outside. Every trip includes a fair amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must.
A Community That Lasts
Many people come to Bible Study Live for the destination. They come back because of the people.
Something happens when you study Scripture together all day, share meals, and walk through places that have shaped the faith for centuries. Strangers become friends quickly, and those friendships keep going long after the trip ends. Travelers visit each other at home, pray for each other, and sign up for the next trip together.
Every Bible Study Live trip so far has sold out, including Rome 2025, Maui 2026, Rome 2026 and Greece 2027. And a big reason is returning travelers. Our first Greece group is made up entirely of alumni, 80 percent of the Maui 2026 group had traveled with us before, and half of the travelers on Rome 2026 are alumni.
After each trip, the conversation continues in our private alumni community on Facebook. Returning travelers also receive $500 off any new trip and early access to registration.
